AMERICAN PUBLIC TELEVISION PROGRAMS RECEIVE SEVEN DAYTIME EMMY NOMINATIONS

BOSTON (May 1, 2008) -- American Public Television (APT), a leading distributor of programming to the nation's public television stations, is proud to announce that several of its programs earned Daytime Emmy nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The 35th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards will be announced in a primetime television ceremony on June 20, 2008.

FOOD TRIP WITH TODD ENGLISH, an insightful cooking series that provides viewers with a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the creative process of chef Todd English, was nominated for two awards: Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Photography and Outstanding Lifestyle Host.

GOURMET'S DIARY OF A FOODIE also received two nominations, one for Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Editing and another for Outstanding Lifestyle Program. The edgy and provocative series offers an exclusive entrée into the passionate inner circle of the food world, uncovering the latest cutting-edge food trends, must-use ingredients, kitchen gadgets and food destinations.

The acclaimed cooking show LIDIA'S ITALY, hosted by celebrity chef and best-selling author Lidia Bastianich, was also nominated in the Outstanding Lifestyle Program category. CHEFS A'FIELD, a unique cooking show that examines the relationships between the nation's top chefs and their food sources, was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Photography.

Rachel Coleman earned a nomination for Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series for her role as "Rachel" in the multi-sensory series SIGNING TIME! This dynamic program introduces children and their parents to American Sign Language (ASL), a "hands on" second language used by millions.
