PRESS RELEASE
BOSTON, (June 28, 2005): APT, the second-leading distributor of programming to public television stations, unveils its new fall lineup, which will include a number of exciting new programs from APT Syndication and Exchange, as well as some returning favorites. The new fall lineup will consist of programs from a variety of genres including cooking, travel, lifestyle and documentaries, all with airdates starting in September. Some of the top programs that will be hitting the air waves are GREATEST ESCAPES, GREAT RAIDS OF WORLD WAR II, RICK STEVES' EUROPE CLASSICS, MARTIN YAN QUICK & EASY II and DAISY COOKS! WITH DAISY MARTINEZ.
APT Exchange has rated MARTIN YAN QUICK & EASY II, RICK STEVES' EUROPE CLASSICS and DAISY COOKS! WITH DAISY MARTINEZ as some of public television's top programming options, with all three earning at least 75% coverage.
MARTIN YAN QUICK & EASY II is hosted by master chef of Asian cuisine, Martin Yan. Viewers will travel with Yan throughout Taiwan and China as he demonstrates how cooking Asian meals at home can be quick, inexpensive and delicious. From a cruise down the Yangtze River to learn about traditional farming techniques to a rice farm visit in the Guangdong Province, Yan's exciting culinary discoveries will ensure that viewers never again think of Asian cuisine as just "take-out." This program will begin feeding to public television stations on September 3, 2005.
RICK STEVES' EUROPE CLASSICS will take viewers on a tour of Europe's most majestic sights. As he journeys from Spain to England and France to Turkey, Steves, the author of America's most popular European guide book, offers the best travel advice on where to stay, what to see and how to get around in Europe. This program will begin feeding to public television stations on September 5, 2005.
DAISY COOKS! WITH DAISY MARTINEZ is more than just a cooking show, but a cultural experience as well. As Martinez salsas around her kitchen, she shares her Latin culture, while teaching viewers how simple it can be to prepare delicious recipes using techniques and ingredients passed down from her mother and grandmother. This program will begin feeding to public television stations on September 10, 2005.
APT Syndication has given GREATEST ESCAPES and GREAT RAIDS OF WORLD WAR II high rankings among the fall syndication programs.
GREATEST ESCAPES looks at the stories of those who have achieved the seemingly impossible. From the three Apollo 13 astronauts who returned to earth safely after their spacecraft suffered a major explosion, to the hundreds of WWII soldiers who survived for weeks behind enemy lines before they were eventually rescued, this program provides a glimpse into the remarkable lives of people who persevered against all odds.
GREAT RAIDS OF WORLD WAR II explores some of the most daring small-scale military operations of World War II. Through veterans' accounts, archive film and meticulous reconstruction, viewers will be put right into the action as they learn about missions that were as vital to Allied success as they were dangerous.
