(
Boston, Mass (September 30, 2004): ) – APT Syndication has secured the U.S. broadcast distribution rights for BBC Worldwide's three-part documentary, JUNGLE, beginning November 1, 2004. The series is hosted by Charlotte Uhlenbroek, an engaging and extremely involved television personality with a Ph.D. in Zoology from University of Bristol. She has hosted a number of other well-received natural history series from the BBC.
In JUNGLE, Uhlenbroek is transported to a place with humidity above 90%, with more diseases than anywhere on Earth and where every breath draws a cloud of insects. Over three episodes this documentary explores three rainforests, including the Amazon, Congo and Borneo. These three world re-knowned forests contain half of the world's species of plants and animals.
The U.S. television premiere for JUNGLE is provided to APT Syndication through The BBC Sales Company. Worldwide Ltd. is the main commercial arm and a wholly owned subsidiary of the British Broadcasting Corporation. Along with JUNGLE, this November and December APT Syndication has also contracted with The BBC Sales Company to distribute HOW MAD WAS KING GEORGE?, HITLER AND THE INVASION OF BRITAIN, AGATHA CHRISTIE'S MISS MARPLE II (second release) and WARSHIP: AT WAR .
APT Syndication searches out and secures programs appropriate for public television and sells them to interested stations in the United States. This service acquires most genres: documentary series and specials, dramas, comedies, performances, feature film packages and more. APT Syndication currently distributes more than 250 titles.
