Exchange

APT Exchange is the nation's largest source of complimentary programming
available to U.S. public television stations. Virtually all U.S. public
television stations participate in this service, mainly airing the
programs during prime-time, weekend "how-to" blocks and
station fund-raising periods.
Exchange offers an extensive library of "how-to" programs
— cooking, travel, crafts, and other "adult learning"
interests — as well as documentaries, music performances, children's
programs and public affairs series. Each year, approximately 150 new
titles are added to Exchange's inventory. Current titles include:
AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN FROM COOK'S ILLUSTRATED
LIDIA'S FAMILY TABLE
NEWPORT JAZZ FESTIVAL
ONE STROKE PAINTING WITH DONNA DEWBERRY
RICK STEVES' EUROPE
TRAVELS TO THE EDGE WITH ART WOLFE
THE APPALACHIANS
SMART TRAVELS- EUROPE WITH RUDY MAXA
American Public Television can offer many of these programs without
cost to public television stations across the country because production
costs are met by national underwriting and program-related merchandise
offers. Exchange programs offer home videos, books, and other supporting
merchandise via toll-free tags following the programs. This is one
of the most successful marketing platforms available in the U.S. Check
the Submission Guidelines to find out more about submitting
programs to APT Exchange.
