TRAVEL TO FASCINATING CULINARY DESTINATIONS WITH SOME OF PUBLIC TELEVISION'S GREATEST CHEFS: LIDIA BASTIANICH, CLAUS MEYER AND MORE

Visit Italy, Denmark and North America for one-of-a kind gastronomic discoveries

Boston, MA (Feb. 21, 2007) American Public Television (APT) will distribute three new culinary travel series to public television stations nationwide beginning May 2007. The programs feature top chefs who go beyond the kitchen to explore local ingredients and reveal cultural insights – practical tips bound to enrich your next homemade meal.

In her latest series, renowned chef Lidia Bastianich returns home to Italy to sample and prepare local specialties. LIDIA'S ITALY includes stops in Rome, Naples, Padua, Sicily and Istria. Take in the beautiful vistas of Tuscany and Trieste while learning authentic Italian recipes for sumptuous dishes like calamari, bistecca (steak), and cavatelli with rucola. Also, join Lidia while she shops for seasonal ingredients at Rome's famous Campo dei Fiori market and later when she returns to her kitchen in the U.S. and discusses some of her favorite hidden cultural treasures and the regional wines of Italy.

Explore the countryside and cuisine of Scandinavia with one of its favorite chefs in NEW SCANDINAVIAN COOKING WITH CLAUS MEYER. This fascinating series will introduce viewers to all the savory dishes and spectacular landscapes that Scandinavia has to offer. As Claus crisscrosses the region in his portable kitchen, he makes fish cakes with rye bread and remoulade in the chic port of The Skaw and prepares a pâté from hare and pheasant near an old Viking burial site in Aalborg. Other highlights include stops in Limfjorden, Marsken, Olso, and Copenhagen as well as a stop in Greenland to fish for shrimp and ice fjord halibut. Claus Meyer is a dynamic host and guide, providing the cultural and culinary insight only a native can.

Travel across North America — from Brooklyn to British Columbia — and discover the journey your meal makes — from farm fields to your plate — in the "extreme-dining" program THE ENDLESS FEAST. This rustic dining series features esteemed chefs such as John Gorham, Ben Dyer, Scott Dolich, Remi Lauvan and Gail Hobbs as they create tantalizing menus comprised of regional organic specialties. Meet the food producers and the chefs who discuss their relationship with the food and then feast together outdoors in farm fields, vineyards and urban gardens.

All three programs will be available on local public television stations nationwide beginning in May. Check your local listings for dates and times.

Requests for screeners, interviews and photos can be submitted to Lorenzo Petruzziello at 617-338-4455, Ext. 133 or e-mail at Lorenzo_Petruzziello@APTonline.org.
