APT WORLDWIDE SECURES REPRESENTATION RIGHTS TO CLASSICAL MUSIC SPECIAL
PRESS RELEASE
Boston, Mass. (Wednesday, November 30, 2005) – APT Worldwide, the international sales division of U.S. public television distributor American Public Television, has secured international representation rights for the one-hour music special, Discovery Concert™: Bach to the FutureŠ. Produced by Brighton Entertainment, the entertaining and informative program demonstrates easy-to-follow methods for gaining a greater understanding and appreciation of classical music.
Designed to appeal to music novices and experienced concertgoers, Bach to the FutureŠ showcases classical music in a whole new light. Taped before a live audience and featuring members of the Philharmonic Orchestra of New Jersey, the program focuses on the Third Movement of Bach's popular Brandenburg Concerto No. 4. By engaging the audience with questions and featuring certain passages of the concerto, host and conductor George Marriner Maull highlights the many facets that go into such a celebrated composition.
Violin soloist Peter Winograd, and recorder soloists Stephen Hammer and Nina Stern, assist Maull in illuminating the piece's treasures. Their solo performances of small sections of the concerto illustrate the conductor's own straightforward insights, providing viewers with a unique perspective into the mind of the composer and the heart of the orchestra.
A unique exploration into the rich and fascinating world of classical music, Bach to the FutureŠ reveals the simple truths behind one of music's most multifaceted genres.
