Boston (Monday, August 13, 2007) – APT Worldwide, the international sales division of U.S. public television distributor American Public Television, has secured the international representation rights for the 13x30 high definition travel series, Equitrekking®. Produced by DCN Creative, LLC in association with KNME-TV, Equitrekking is the first travel series to explore the world on horseback.

Combining her lifelong passion for horses and travel, host and series producer Darley Newman provides adventure-hungry viewers with a fresh way to travel. In each episode, Newman — also an equestrian travel columnist for True West and Practical Horseman magazines and managing editor of Equitrekking.com — ventures off the beaten path for a colorful look at some unique and breathtaking locales.

“Many people dream of riding off into the sunset and embodying the equine spirit. We capture this in each episode of Equitrekking,” says Darley. “Horseback riding gives you access to remote areas of the globe sometimes inaccessible by other means of transportation.”

From the lush countryside of Ireland to the rugged, scenic landscapes of Iceland, the series explores the people, lands and cultures whose histories are intertwined with horses. Whether it’s watching the intricate dance of the enchanting Andalusian horses of Jerez, Spain or experiencing an inn-to-inn ride through Vermont’s country roads, Equitrekking allows viewers to experience travel from a whole new perspective.
