APT WORLDWIDE TO REPRESENT OREGON PUBLIC BROADCASTING PROGRAM CATALOG

Boston, MA (Feb. 28, 2007) APT Worldwide, the international sales division of U.S. public television distributor American Public Television, has secured the international representation rights for seven titles from Oregon Public Broadcasting's current program catalog and an agreement to represent future OPB programs. The non-fiction programs include a wrenching series set in a children's hospital, a doc special on the pivotal year of 1968 (for 40th anniversary scheduling in 2008), and a series exploring the impact of technology on the world of finance.

Titles include: THE NEW HEROES (4x60), an inspiring series hosted by Robert Redford that profiles social entrepreneurs around the world; WINDOW TO THE SEA (1x60), a high definition, behind-the-scenes look at four state-of-the-art aquariums; CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL (6x60), a compelling series that captures the emotional, real life stories of staff, parents and patients at a renowned pediatric hospital; ELECTRIC MONEY (3x60), a fascinating series that examines how information technology has radically transformed the way people save, spend and think about money; THE SIXTIES: THE YEARS THAT SHAPED A GENERATION (1x120) and 1968: THE YEAR THAT SHAPED A GENERATION(1x60), two informative documentaries that revisit a turbulent time of worldwide political and social upheaval; and THE BAY OF PIGS (1x60), a documentary that examines both the tactical and ethical questions surrounding the attempted invasion of Cuba.

Oregon Public Broadcasting
OPB ranks among the top five producers of national programming among all PBS stations nationwide. Recent productions include The New Heroes, a groundbreaking series about social entrepreneurs around the world; The Sixties: The Years that Shaped a Generation and Electric Money, two-hour prime-time specials; and currently in production, a fifth season of History Detectives,co-produced with the UK's Lion Television, and Foreign Exchange with Fareed Zakaria, a weekly foreign affairs series distributed by APT.
