television programs during the 2006-2007 season
APT continues to be a major presence among public television’s most-viewed primetime and fringe (7pm–12am ET or equivalent) titles.
Top titles (see chart above left):
APT presented six of the top 10, 12 of the top 20, 33 of the top 50 and 52 of the top 100 series and
specials carried by five or more primary-service stations
The top APT program was the feature film Rio Bravo, ranked third.
Movies:
This year, movies accounted for six of the top 10 APT titles, 14 of the top 20, 24 of the top 40, 29 of the top 50, and 48 of the top 100
This year, the two top-rated APT titles were movies: Rio Bravo, ranked third; The Magnificent Seven, ranked fourth
Thirty-one of the top 100 PTV titles are APT movies
Increased program exposure:
Primary-service PTV stations in Nielsen's 55 metered markets used 210 APT titles (specials and series) 7,721 times in the primetime and fringe dayparts - APT's largest number of airings in metered markets ever.
Holiday titles:
APT presented seven of the 22 Christmas, New Year's or Chanukah specials carried by five or more primary stations this season.
APT's Happy Holidays: The Best of the Andy Williams Christmas Shows and Christmas at the Hollywood Palace were the two highest-rated public television holiday programs in the 2006-'07 season.
