APT cooking shows heat up the weekends
APT cooking programs such as LIDIA’S FAMILY TABLE and AMERICA’S TEST KITCHEN “are viewed on average by about twice the audience as Food Network’s top programs, according to Nielsen NSI ratings” (LA Times, July 2004). This June, culinary wizards heated up the ratings once again. NEW SCANDINAVIAN COOKING WITH ANDREAS VIESTAD averaged a 1.7 over seven weekend daytime plays on primary metered markets, while CAPRIAL AND JOHN’S KITCHEN: COOKING FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS ranked just behind on the weekends with a 1.6 over 14 primary metered market plays. Weekend daytime airings provide stations with the perfect opportunity to reach their core audience. With a vast selection of culinary genres, ranging from Latin American to Italian and Scandinavian to American barbecue, stations have the tools to satisfy any palette and earn strong ratings. This fall, look for new seasons of CHRISTINA COOKS and SIMPLY MING with several more cooking series premiering in January.
