Art & Culture  TV-G

NEW GLASS AT WHEATON explores the world of New Jersey's Creative Glass Center of America, where resident artists pursue their creative visions. Cameras follow three young artists as they manipulate glass in new and unexpected ways. Charlotte Potter creates tongue-in-cheek "antler art" in response to the kitschy Western art seen in her hometown of Jackson Hole, WY. Rika Hawes creates large-scale versions of her jagged, broken-glass installation pieces. Kim Harty continues her exploration of conceptual themes and performance work. One of her projects, "Synchro Blow" — a process in which two glassblowers simultaneously create the same form — spurs the development of a glass "circus."
