WILDERNESS PLOTS began as a book of 50 vignettes which traced the settlement of the Ohio Valley. Inspired by Scott Russell Sanders' book, Tim Grimm and a group of fellow singer-songwriters — Krista Detor, Carrie Newcomer, Tom Roznowski, and Michael White — developed songs based on the book. Their creative collaboration soon yielded an album and a fully staged touring show and the public television special, Wilderness Plots: Songs and Stories of the Prairie (also in distribution through American Public Television). WILDERNESS PLOTS: IN CONCERT follows Grimm, Detor, Newcomer, Roznowski and White as they re-unite to once again perform tunes based on the book, with Sanders offering dramatic introductions to the songs.
