101 - Basic Cartooning
Bruce shows you how to take everyday simple shapes and turn them into finished cartoons. He starts by drawing an oval and then adds guidelines and features. By moving the features around inside the shape and by varying the features, Bruce shows you how to make cartoon characters that can look different. He closes this easy to follow episode with a complete character, body and all, waving down a cab, only to be splashed by a passing truck.

102 - Inanimate Objects Come to Life
One of the things that Bruce loves best about the world of cartooning is how you can make inanimate objects, things that don’t actually live, come to life! Bruce shows you how to draw a sign that he once made that says, “Don’t overload the Washing Machines”. He draws the washing machines with an overstuffed, sick face that really makes for a funny sketch. Bruce also demonstrates how “facial expressions” can be added to make a character look like it is deep in thought.

103 - Caricatures - Making the Sale
Some people call them caricatures, but Bruce just calls them Cartoon Portraits. On this show, Bruce is visited by an insurance saleswoman, who makes a great first subject. Just when he has completed this easy to follow sketch, a man delivering pizza arrives just in time to be the next subject. Bruce draws him doing, what else, delivering pizza.

104 - Caricatures - Mail Call
Cartoon portraits are cartoons, which means that they are comical and also portraits, which means that they should actually look like the subject. On this episode, Bruce draws a cartoon portrait of his mailman, who is an older fellow, as a fisherman. As soon as he is finished with this comical sketch, Bruce’s nephew stops by to get drawn. Bruce draws his nephew in a three quarter view pose as a baseball player.

105 - Drawing Comic Strips with Jerry Marcus
Comic strips have been around for a long, long time. On this show, Bruce shows you how to create your own comic strip from beginning to end. He will discuss gag ideas, layout, lettering and much more. For a special feature on this show, Bruce is visited by special guest cartoonist, Jerry Marcus. Jerry has had his cartoons published regularly in the Saturday Evening Post. He is also the creator of the popular comic strip about a husband and wife entitled “Trudy”.

106 - Drawing Comic Strips with John Cullen Murphy
Bruce begins this show at the studio of his special guest, acclaimed comic strip artist John Cullen Murphy. John draws the beautiful and long running comic strip Prince Valiant, read in newspapers nationwide. John demonstrates how to draw some of his well-known characters. Then, it’s back to Bruce’s own studio as he explains how to draw your own comic strip from start to finish.

107 – Cartoons in Advertising
Cartoons are a great way to sell products and services. On this program Bruce shows you how to ‘beef-up’ an ad for a sandwich shop, by drawing a fellow eating a giant submarine. Bruce goes on to demonstrate how inanimate objects can be brought to life to help bring special appeal to your advertisements. Later in the show, you are Bruce’s special guest on a tour of the original International Museum of Cartoon Art, where you get to see famous original cartoons and comic strips up close and in person.

108 – Cartoon Animals
A favorite area for all cartoonists would have to be cartoon animals! Bruce shows you how to draw a running horse, slithering snake, a lion and much more on this zany episode. Bruce also shows you how to draw animals that look like people! For a cool feature during this episode, Bruce shows you how to create your own greeting card using cartoon animals.

109 – Basic Drawing
All objects in this world can be broken down into four basic forms – the Sphere, the Cube, the Cylinder and the Cone. After drawing a few sketches using these forms, Bruce ties it all together with a complete pencil sketch of a peaceful mountain scene. Bruce will show you how to look at ordinary objects and visually break them down into their basic forms to develop a whole new appreciation for the beautiful things in this world.

110 – Cartoon Characters
This episode deals with creating just the right type for your next cartooning assignment. Bruce explains how to draw a man that could be cast as your next-door neighbor or a deliveryman. He also shows you how just by changing the clothing on a character; he could be cast as a preacher, judge or a butler. For a special feature, Bruce shows you how to use a great tool for all cartoonists, the light box. Bruce ends this program with a sketch of a “good guy” hitting a “bad guy” – Mr. Bad Habits.

111 - Action Figures
In this action packed episode Bruce shows you how to draw a tennis player and the kicker for a football team. The Feature of the Day demonstrates how to make your own greeting cards - but not any ordinary card - a Pop-Up Card. Numbertoons are the clever Doodle Tricks for the day. The Blitz Tip is, "Home is where the art is".

112 - Let’s Keep Things in Perspective
Perspective is what gives your drawings the illusion of depth and Bruce demonstrates this by showing you three viewpoints; a worm’s eye view, a person’s eye view and a bird's eye view. Bruce also shows you how to create a mountain scene; with water, mountains and trees for the Feature of the Day. The Doodle Tricks are cartoons drawn from the sounds that animals make. Like the sound ‘moo’ into a cow and ‘purr’ into a cat and a bird. The Blitz Tip is, "If you enjoy what you are drawing, you must be doing it right“!

113 - The Write Tools
You need the right tools to do any job and drawing is no exception. Bruce explains how to draw a cartoon character using different materials and demonstrates the various results they produce. For the Feature of the Day, Bruce draws a portrait of a wild stallion. The Blitz Tip for the day is, "Your drawing might not turn out the way you planned...it might turn out better".


201- Feature by Feature
In this episode Bruce shows the basics of cartooning, step-by-step and feature-by-feature, to take the beginner from simple shapes to finished drawings. For the special feature, Bruce spins his new invention, The Wheel of Features, and comes up with a wacky face. For the Doodle Trick, Bruce takes a couple of letters and turns them into faces and even turns the word “fun” into his own face.

202 - Personality Plus
In this program, Bruce demonstrates how to take inanimate objects and make them come alive in a cartoon world by giving them a personality. For example, Bruce turns a saxophone into a cool jazz musician, a toaster into a slice of bread, and lots more. For the Feature of the Day, Bruce draws a picture of a grandpa-type and folds the paper a certain way to make the character move. For the Doodle Trick segment, Bruce shows how a magician and his rabbit can come out of the same hat.

203 - Fun with the Comics
Everybody likes to read the funnies in the newspaper and in this show, Bruce creates an actual comic strip from beginning to end. For the Feature of the Day, Bruce teaches you how to draw everyone’s favorite sailor," Popeye”. He even shows you how to animate “Popeye” eating his spinach. For the Doodle Trick, he turns the word ‘smile’ into a guy smiling and the addition problem 5 plus 6 equals 11 into a man with a toothy grin!

204 - Face to Face
In this episode Bruce draws cartoon portraits of people from days gone by, like Ben Franklin and the Mona Lisa. Bruce then goes on location to Essex, Connecticut and draws more cartoon portraits, this time from live subjects in this beautiful setting. For the Doodle Trick, Bruce takes the word “joy” and turns it into something that gives you joy, a clown.

205 - From A to Zebra
Everybody loves animals; and Bruce shows how a few simple shapes can become a horse, a pig, and even a silly ostrich. For the Feature of the Day, Bruce goes on location to the zoo in Providence, Rhode Island where he draws a giraffe and an African elephant. During the Doodle Trick segment, Bruce turns the letter ‘A’ into a dog, a ‘Q’ into a cat and the word ‘duck’ into a cartoon duck, for even more cartoon animal fun.

206 - The Right Type
Bruce creates different types of characters in this episode, which deals with fitting the exact actor (in this case, cartoon character) with the scene. For the Feature of the Day, some friends from the neighborhood stop by to help Bruce “Change Doug’s Mug”, which is a fun exercise that demonstrates how by changing different features, you can create a variety of different characters. For the Doodle Trick, Bruce turns a toad into a toadstool.

207 - Lights! Action! Draw!
In this episode, Bruce takes action and shows you how to draw figures that really move, like sports cartoons, running poses and more. Bruce welcomes his special guest, NBA star Vin Baker, and shows him just how easy it is to draw cartoons during this special Feature of the Day. In the Doodle Trick segment, Bruce solves the mystery of how the frog always turns into a prince.

208 - The Prop Thickens!
In this show, Bruce demonstrates how important props are in order to convey a complete cartoon scene. Bruce shows you how to draw trees, a speeding car and a fax machine with tons of paper. The Feature of the Day includes the Wheel of Features, a neat cartooning invention and the drawings get done with the help of a few friends. For today’s Doodle Trick, Bruce draws a pretty woman, turns the picture upside down and it automatically becomes a kindly old king!

#209 - Central Casting
As the cartoonist, you are in charge of casting the right type of characters for the cartoon setting. And today, Bruce shows you how to create a cowboy-type, an absent-minded professor, an executive type and more. For the Feature of the Day, Bruce shows special guest Dr. Joyce Brothers and her granddaughter, how to draw. For the Doodle Trick, Bruce turns the word “Joe” into a comic pirate.

210 - Signs of the Times
Everyone, at one time or another has needed to make a sign or poster. And on this episode, Bruce shows you how a crisp cartoon can liven up a sign for a lemonade stand, a lawn care service and a painter. A local teacher and some students stop by to ask Bruce to help create a sign for a car wash fundraiser they are having at school. For the Doodle Trick, Bruce draws a footprint and easily turns it into a woman with five babies.

211 - Tooning into Nature
This show is about how to draw cartoon animals like a horse, chicken, kangaroo and everyone’s favorite, tyrannosaurus Rex! For the Feature of the Day, Bruce takes you on a trip to the Mystic Marine Life Aquarium in southern Connecticut, where he draws a comic seal and some playful dolphins. During today’s Doodle Trick, Bruce asks the riddle, “What do a football, a bell and an onion all have in common?” And the answer is, “Nothing really; except they are all great shapes from which you can draw cartoon cats.”

212 - Clothes Make the Person
In this episode, Bruce shows you how, just by altering a character’s clothing, you can create a variety of people. He draws a Mariachi musician, an Eskimo, a karate expert and many more. For the Feature of the Day, Bruce demonstrates a form of cartooning that has been around for many years known as “Chalk Talk”. A “Chalk Talk” sketch, is a cartoon drawn to a story, song, or poem, and usually has a trick or surprise ending. Bruce has a few friends from the neighborhood join along in the fun. For the Doodle Trick, Bruce turns the fraction two-thirds, into Abraham Lincoln.

213 - Fine Tooning
In this episode, Bruce shows you the basics of cartooning. He draws facial expressions; action poses and even cartoon faces drawn from vegetables. The Feature of the Day is called “Flip Tips”, where Bruce shows you how to animate drawings by flipping the tips of his drawing pad. Bruce animates a sequence where a shark swallows a little fish and another of a man getting a pie in the face. In the Doodle Trick portion of this episode, Bruce shows you how to turn the number 5 into a chef, a 3 into a comic face with a beard and a 6 into a kid doing a handstand!
