#502: “Delbert McClinton and the Self-Made Men + Dana”
"Roots music visionary" (Rolling Stone Magazine) Delbert McClinton returns with a swaggering and swingin’ set of music including hits “Giving it Up for Your Love” and “Have a Little Faith in Me” and new songs with a humorous age-appropriate twist: “Mr. Smith” and “Let’s Get Down Like We Used To”. His evocative interview includes stories of his opening for and learning from blues greats Sonny Boy Williamson and Jimmy Reed.

As Joseph, the Closner sisters Allison, Meegan and Natalie Schepman sing in tight sibling harmony with a mix of delicacy and power. Hear songs including

#505: “Kandace Springs”
Kandace Springs brings a stunning mix of beauty, jazz, soul and pop to THE KATE. With her all-female band, she performs songs from her 2020 album “The Women Who Raised Me”. In a funky yet sophisticated set, Springs delivers songs to honor her vocal influences including: Nina Simone’s “I Put a Spell on You”, Bonnie Raitt’s vocals on “I Can't Make You Love Me”, and Sade’s “Love is Stronger Than Pride.”

#506: “Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe”
Singer/saxophonist Karl Denson fronts the Tiny Universe as if he is preaching the gospel--and the energy and spirit he brings to THE KATE stage is potent. With a reputation as one of the great live bands, Denson and Tiny Universe perform their jazz-funk jams including “Dance Lesson No. 2”, “Something Sweet” “I’m Your Biggest Fan” and “Change my Way” and more.
