Episodes #401 and #402 – "Garden of Death"
A commercial decision to turn Midsomer Deverell's memorial garden into a tea shop proves to be a fatal mistake for some members of the Inkpen family. When Fliss Inkpen is found brutally murdered in the garden, Barnaby launches an investigation that unearths more than mere local hostility. Upon the deaths of Elspeth Inkpen, Cynthia Bennett and George Bennett, Barnaby's discoveries reveal a tumultuous trail of ruined dreams, scandalous love affairs and vicious blackmail that lead straight to the killer. Guest Star: Sarah Alexander (Coupling) and an early Midsomer appearance by Neil Dudgeon in a different role before joining the series as DCI John Barnaby.

When Gregory Chamber — one of the new hotel owners — does not attend Karl’s funeral, a frantic and worried search party forms. The party scours the woods for a trace of George, ultimately making a grave discovery when they find his severed hand. DCI Barnaby quickly launches a murder investigation. Episodes #405 and #406 – "Electric Vendetta"
A series of murders unfolds in Midsomer Parva with the discovery of a naked body in the center of a mysterious crop circle in a field owned by Sir Harry Chatwyn. When local extra-terrestrial expert Lloyd Kirby becomes interested, rumors abound that the vicious death could be the work of some alien force. Barnaby, however, has other ideas when the bodies of a local criminal and Sir Harry’s adulterous son-in-law are found under extraordinarily similar circumstances. Barnaby’s investigation reveals multiple motives and multiple killers who used the first murder as a model for their own deadly endeavors. Guest star: John Woodvine (Doc Martin; Nicholas Nickleby)

Episodes #407 and #408 – "Who Killed Cock Robin"
After a horse whisperer disappears in Newton Magna, Barnaby comes face to face with a long-standing adversary: ex-con Melvyn Stockard. Stockard claims to be a reformed man, only concerned with his daughter’s impending marriage. But, when one of the wedding party is found dead in a local well, all suspicions are aimed his way. Barnaby’s discovery of an extramarital affair, however, points to a different pair of killers with a vengeful motive. Guest star: Ian McNeice (Doc Martin)

Episodes #409 and #410 – "Dark Autumn"
In the village of Goodman's Land, postman Dave Cutler is murdered while on an early morning round. With the help of local community WPC Jay Nash, Barnaby & Troy's investigations reveal that Cutler was the local Romeo, having seduced a number of women. Would any of the jealous husbands or jilted lovers have wanted to murder him? When the bodies of two husbands of these adulterous women are found, the idea quickly fades. Instead, the investigation team's search identifies a twisted murderer scarred by childhood memories. Guest star: Celia Imrie (Cranford)

Episodes #501 and #502 – "Tainted Fruit"
After drugs and syringes are discovered stolen from a local veterinary surgery owned by Raif and Georgina Canning, a local woman is found dead next to her swimming pool, killed by an overdose of barbiturates. When Raif Canning and Adam Keyne — men who discovered the body — are found murdered as well, Barnaby and Troy must weed through a dark world of adultery and lies to uncover the identity of the calculating perpetrator. Their efforts reveal a woman who places more importance on her social prowess and status than the life of her lover. Guest star: Lucy Punch (Doc Martin; Hot Fuzz)

In Midsomer Wellow, the church bell-ringers are being murdered one by one. In hopes of winning a national striking competition, the determined bell group continues with rehearsals despite the growing number of deaths. As each is murdered, the killer leaves a line from a nursery rhyme by the body, though one of these notes has been altered to allude to a long-ago incident in Midsomer Wellow's past. Barnaby and Troy must find the connection between this note and a past Midsomer Wellow murder to stop one villager's quest for bloody revenge. Guest stars: Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) and Graham Crowden (Waiting For God)

Episodes #505 and #506 – "Murder on St. Malley's Day"
After a pupil at the prestigious Devington School dies of a stab wound suffered while competing in a race, shocked locals are sure the death can be linked to the long-running rivalry between the school and the locals. After a local Devington man is found murdered on the school grounds, Barnaby finds that one man is willing to kill to keep the morbid history of the Pudding Club from being exposed.

Episodes #507 and #508 – "Market for Murder"
When the head of a local book club is robbed and battered to death with her walking stick, suspicion soon falls on club members. When the club is exposed as a front for a lucrative investment portfolio, many believe that money and riches were the motive behind the brutal attack. The investigation becomes increasingly urgent as more book club members are killed. As the hidden secrets and mysterious pasts of these women are uncovered, Barnaby finds that for one murder, unrequited love is a stronger motive than money. Guest star: Anglea Thorne (To The Manner Born)

Barnaby and Troy quickly find themselves thrust into a whirlwind of witchcraft, ancient potions, infidelity and land feuds that expose a chilling example of the consequences which can result when parents believe they always know best. Guest star: Wendy Craig (Are You Being Served)
