Known locally as a merciless landowner who would burn down houses he felt encroached on his land – sometimes with tenants inside – Mr. Wraxhall delves deeper into the tyrannical figure. He discovers the Count made an unholy pilgrimage to the Holy Land and legend has it he brought something, or someone, back with him.
