IN THE AMERICAS WITH DAVID YETMAN takes a fresh look at the lands that make up much of the Western Hemisphere. The 10-part series showcases the landscapes, peoples and history of North, Central and South America in a unique and distinct way. In season four, host David Yetman takes the viewer on a trip to a beer festival in Tucson, Arizona to find out the origin of what makes beer different and goes on a "quest for hops" in Yakima, Washington; explores the "wild west" of Panama called the Azuero Peninsula, where the citizens are huge baseball fans; and travels to the famed wine capital of Mendoza in Argentina, whose wine production dates back to colonial times. IN THE AMERICAS also explores America's past and travels to the ancient foothill sites in the Wind River Range in western Wyoming, where Shoshone Indians left examples of their art, historic locations of Indian battles, and scars and mines of ghost towns. Yetman's travels continue into Central America where he discovers the rich tradition and the British and Mayan history that makes up the citizens and country of Belize and the state of Oaxaca in Mexico which is home to sixteen different Indian groups among whom can be found more than sixty different languages. IN THE AMERICAS WITH DAVID YETMAN travels further south to explore the lush rainforests and snow of the Andes, and the favelas of Brazil, long known for providing the artistic and dramatic talent to Río's annual Carnaval celebration, to the extreme southern tip of Colombia to see the wildlife and to visit the indigenous people who live in the heart of the Amazon jungle.
