IN THE AMERICAS WITH DAVID YETMAN showcases the landscapes, peoples and history of North and South America — from the coldest towns in Canada to the tropical islands of the Caribbean. Season five finds David exploring fascinating locations across the western hemisphere. In Port of Spain, Trinidad, David samples the food and learns about the history of stilt walkers. He then travels to Tenochtitlán in Mexico, which was home to several great markets, and makes a night stop in the historic flower market. He also takes a boat ride through the market's historic source, the floating gardens of Xochimilco. From there it's on to the Mata Atlantica, which once covered Brazil's southeastern coast for more than a 1,000 miles, and still blankets the steep hills of Río de Janeiro.
