IN THE AMERICAS WITH DAVID YETMAN showcases the landscapes, peoples and history of North and South America — from the coldest towns in Canada to the tropical islands of the Caribbean. Season six finds David traveling to Mexico City, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas. Mexico City, which was once known as the Aztec capital city of Tenochtitlán, is home to more than 20 million people and the present capital of Mexico. There, David visits the city's museums, monuments, galleries, and public celebrations, where its vast ethnic mix reflects its past and present glories, making it Latin America’s most vibrant city. David journeys to Havana, Cuba where a Cuban cultural expert shows him a village created by artists, hidden among several of its historic buildings. He discovers an African-Cuban cultural center, a canalside restaurant, a school for women boxers, and a street dedicated to live Afro-Cuban music. He then travels to Santiago de Cuba, Cuba's second largest city, which is well-known for its African roots and cultural life.
