The travel/culinary series NEW SCANDINAVIAN COOKING features mouth-watering food and breathtaking scenery from northern Europe. “New Nordic Cuisine” is famous for its rich flavors and the finest local ingredients, producing an array of dishes sourced directly from farmers in the region. Season eight features new host, Niklas Ekstedt, a Swedish Michelin-starred chef, cookbook author and television host. Chef Niklas owns three top restaurants in Sweden and hosted the popular cooking series Mat("food" in Swedish), as well as other culinary programs in his home country. In the new season, chef Niklas introduces viewers to some of his favorite recipes, which are often infused by smoke or torched with fire — skills he has perfected in his Michelin-star restaurant Ekstedt in Stockholm, where no electricity is used for cooking. Only the open flames of wood ovens and gas appliances are used to create authentic Scandinavian flavors at his restaurant.
