ROADTRIP NATION: TECH FOR US follows three young people as they explore how people are using technology to change the world for the better. Anthoni grew up in Staten Island, New York, and he's excited to explore the world beyond his hometown. He dreams of combining his psychology background with public interest tech to make the world more inclusive. Demaceo is currently based in Denver, Colorado. He studied biology in college and has spent the previous decade working in marine biology, environmental education, and sustainable development. Now, he wants to combine his passion for environmentalism with his software skills in a community-centered way. Julie, based in Washington, D.C., is passionate about the intersection of technology and social impact. Originally an engineer, she transitioned into civic tech through a congressional fellowship. She’s interested in exploring how AI and emerging technologies can enhance education access and address societal needs. These three young people see the potential to transform the tech industry. Encounters with successful innovators confirm their conviction that they can achieve anything with the right skills and a drive to succeed.
