Season six of WELL READ features new host Elisa Jaffe and in-depth interviews with today’s hottest authors, plus book recommendations from Seattle Times and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mary Ann Gwinn. The new season will include an exciting mix of new and popular authors, will cover a multitude of genres, including fiction, non-fiction, biographies, short story collections and poetry. Potential guests include: Carrie Fisher, Ann Patchett, Jodi Picoult, Ya’a Gyasi and Manuel Gonzales. In addition, the series will include three special episodes called “Author-2-Author,” where a well-known author takes over hosting duties to interview a guest with a new book release. The first special episode showcases Pulitzer Prize-winning and New York Times best-selling author Héctor Tobar interviewing fellow prize-winning author Sam Quinones about his book Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic. The series will also produce two shows from the Miami Book Fair and a third from New York City. Finally, capitalizing on the series' robust Book Club membership, another episode will include the segment “Best of Book Club Questions,” where questions from book club members will be posed directly to the authors.
