A love letter to Southern stories and the authors and poets who write them, BOOKS BY THE RIVER explores the inspiration, passion and writing behind creating a Southern story. Host Holly Jackson conducts in-depth interviews with Southern authors from inside a coastal library on the banks of the Beaufort River. During these interviews, authors read from their books, tell humorous and heartwarming stories, share their love of reading and offer advice for aspiring writers.

The 10-part series features authors and settings from across the American South and covers multiple genres, including historical fiction, nature, nonfiction, cooking, Southern culture, mysteries and thrillers.
