Centered around the inspirational friendship between civil rights icon Andrew Young and business leader Billy Payne, THE GAMES IN BLACK AND WHITE presents a comprehensive look at their improbable quest to bring the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games to Atlanta. Framed against the backdrop of the city’s vibrant civil rights history, the documentary chronicles events from the earliest days of the bid to the reality of hosting and through to the lasting transformation and legacy. Beyond the victorious mission to host the Olympics, the remarkable achievements of the athletes and the extraordinary social and economic impacts, the story demonstrates how two men – one Black, one white – embodied the promise of the civil rights movement and helped fulfill the destiny of the "City Too Busy To Hate."
