SWAMP BUGGY FEVER!
TV-G · 1 × 30 min
Producer: WGCU Public Media
In Naples, Florida, swamp buggy racing is a living tradition born from pioneers who built vehicles to navigate the Everglades. Invented by machinist Ed Frank around the 1920s and refined after WWII with leftover airplane tires and Jeep parts, hunting buggies evolved into racing buggies, with official races starting in 1949 – a unique and vibrant tradition that continues today. Featuring iconic drivers, vintage footage and historic race highlights, the film captures the sport's evolution, culture and legacy.
